Printing with Blurb.ca
Experience with design applications like InDesign and Photoshop is a huge advantage submitting artwork online for print. Especially when the online service is strictly W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. meaning there is no way to work with a specialist directly, I have to make sure what I am submitting is design right for the printer. Printing with Blurb.com comes with some requirements but can be quite flexible for a non-artist. I used Indesign to compose Photoshop artwork and then submitted. For a an inexperienced author it is easy to skip the technical stuff and make compositions with Blurb directly on Blurb or using a free app. The process is even more flexible to a graphic designer.
The project displayed here was a 100 page 8X8″ book containing my sketches of typographic treatments. The subject was popular song quotes. Some errors were included and I will be printing again some day. This was a reminder to check my work more carefully.
still looks right though?
